MGM Resorts International announced Monday that in January it will completely close The Mirage midweek in a move that’s expected to go through February. It will be fully open on the weekends.
MGM had already closed The Mirage hotel towers midweek starting Nov. 30 through the end of December.
“With weekday business levels remaining low due to COVID-19 and the restrictions on group gatherings, we have made the decision to temporarily close The Mirage Monday-Wednesday, effective January 4, 2021,” MGM Resorts said in a statement. “This closure will include the casino, hotel and restaurants, in addition to all other amenities.
“While we do not currently expect the midweek closure to remain in effect past February, we will continue evaluating how long The Mirage’s midweek hotel closure will remain in effect.”
The hotel towers at Park MGM and Mandalay Bay have already been closed midweek, but the casino and other amenities remain open and that will continue, the company said.
