POTENTIALLY SAVING BUSINESSES AND ALSO GIVING HOPE TO THOUSANDS THAT WERE LEFT OUT OF FIVE PREVIOUS ROUNDS OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE. FOR THOSE PEOPLE WHO APPLIED THE FIRST, SECOND, AND THIRD ROUND AND WERE PUT ON THE WAITLIST, PLEASE BE PATIENT. THERE ARE THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF APPLICATIONS THAT ARE BEING PROCESSED. THEY ARE WORKING WITH 60 ORGANIZATIONS ACROSS THE STATE TO CAREFULLY CHOOSE THE DISK — THOSE DISPROPORTIONATELY AFFECTED GROUPS. Small businesses in Northern California hit by COVID-19 can soon apply for relief grants
Hundreds of thousands of California businesses could soon be receiving state funding.Leer en españolThose heavily impacted small business owners will be able to apply for a sixth round of the Cal Relief Grants — possibly benefitting and keeping businesses like Los Vaqueros in South Sacramento open.The sixth round comes at a time when businesses continue to struggle to make ends meet. In the Sacramento area, at least 40% of Black-owned businesses have been permanently closed due to COVID-19. “This grant could be the lifesaver for some of these businesses,” said Lina Doyle, director of operations at Sacramento’s Black Small Business Association.Lendistry is the state’s intermediary, and they’re working with 60 organizations to carefully choose the most impacted businesses. “It’s hard to determine who has the most need, especially during COVID environment, as the pandemic has gone on, the distress has been deeper,” said Lendistry CEO Everett Sands.Those interested in the grant can apply through any of the community partners from 9 a.m. on April 28 through May 4 at 5 p.m. Help is provided in your primary language,…
