Rhinelander – The Rhinelander City Council, with two-thirds majority vote, overturned a recent ordinance that banned the sale and possession of delta 8 and 10 THC products within city limits.
“For some of my customers it’s a relief,” said Matt Adams, manager at Rhinelander smoke shop Still Smoking.
He said while the products are back on the shelves, the customers are not back in the store.
“The first two or three days we had it back we didn’t hardly sell anything. I still had people in yesterday that didn’t know we had it back already,” said Adams.
The ordinance was first passed after the City Council expressed concerns about the products being regulated. Some of Still smoking’s inventory comes from hemp and CBD supplier Vite Leaf.
“It’s pretty safe and we do it the right way,” said Marc Taweel, president of Vite Leaf.
Taweel said Vite Leaf tests its products to confirm they contain no THC or less than 0.3%.
“After that we give it to the third lab party to confirm,” said Taweel.
Test results can be found by scanning QR codes labeled on all Vite Leaf products.
“It tells you the batch date. It tells you when it was reviewed and the methods used to test it—and that’s on every product,” said Adams.
