The new ministers will include 13 Lawyers, 6 Doctors, 5 Engineers, 7 Civil servants, 7 PhDs and 3 MBAs, apart from 68 with Graduate Degrees.

Modi 2.0
- According to sources, 11 women ministers will be inducted today, including 2 Cabinet ministers.
- There will be 3 Cabinet ministers from the minorities.
- 46 ministers in the post-reshuffle government already have experience of being ministers at the Centre. 23 of them have had 3 or more terms under their belt.
- The new look-Modi 2.0 will have 4 former chief ministers, 18 former state ministers and 39 former MLAs.
Big names shown door ahead of Modi 2.0
Ahead of the mega cabinet expansion of the Modi government, several ministers have resigned from the cabinet. Among big names, Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan, Education Minister Dr Ramesh ‘Nishank’ Pokhriyal and Union Labour Minister Santosh Gangwar have all resigned ahead of the Modi cabinet expansion.

What to watch out for:
- According to govt sources, there will be a record 12 Scheduled Caste ministers, including 2 Cabinet ministers.
- These ministers will be from 8 states — Bihar, MP, UP, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu.
- There will also be a record 8 ministers from 8 Scheduled Tribes, spread across 8 states.
The much-awaited Union Cabinet reshuffle
PM Modi’s cabinet reshuffle at 6 pm today, the first in his second term, is expected to bring in big administrative changes amidst various challanges. The reshuffle comes against the backdrop of a massive review, which was undertaken by the BJP top brass to assess the works of Union ministers and the organisation as a whole amid the Covid-19 pandemic. According to media reports, the new cabinet will have a special focus on the representation of ‘soshit, pidit, vanchhit and adivasi’ (underprivileged and tribal communities).
